I think the problem is that room they needed for electronics distributor required a slightly longer approx. It has only been removed from its box twice. I would think that it is fine having been tested before bought it, but cannot make any promises or guarantees. Unfortunately, I let is sit around for a couple of months until had time to try put it in.

The distributor is new and unused in its original packing with instructions gasket. I bought this distributor for my 1948 Ford Convertible. Because it is was never used, untested by me. My loss is your gain!, OK, the details.

I finally opened up the box and noticed that this e-Fire was sort of deep/long. The distributor is specifically for a Ford Flathead V8 with two bolt mounting pattern and 6 volt positive ground electrical system. So the story. Everything else matched up perfectly; the bolt pattern, cam connection, even overall size was perfect just not length /depth.

My car is a '48 Ford Convertible, but I would think that it fit on '46 or '47 as well because they were mechanically identical. 5 inches body than a stock distributor, and, perhaps, it was designed with an after market radiator installed as my one too deep for. I measured it, and then an old stock distributor had discovered that this e-Fire was too deep/long to fit on my car.
